- In the muggle world, political party renames itself the Walpurgis Alliance in a controvertial move. "For our Future." becomes the slogan for a political compaign that shows wide spread success, for them to be elected in the June 7th elections. - Minister, Hal Watkins, overrun by his new duties, hires Dorielle Fawcett as a personal assistant. June 10th - Watkins goes missing, only for his head to be found sitting on the desk of Head of the DMLE, Bartemius Crouch, two days later. June 17th - New Minister for magic, Gulliver Harwood, is imperiused by Voldemort after being tricked by Fawcett. August 1st - In a stunning new move, Harwood announces that he is working with the Walpurgis Alliance to form the first muggle-wizarding political party, promoting a safer future for both. In reality, this is the first step towards controlling muggles and giving wizards supremacy. September 5th - The Ministry of Magic declares it's official alliance with the muggle world, to make it a better place for all to exist. In this spirit, it was called Unity Day. In reality, this was an excuse to replace the Walpurgis Alliance with certain key people that would usher in new laws. The Prime Minster is now answering to new and improved WA, which consists only of those with the correct ideals and those blackmailed into having those ideals. October 17th - A new law is introduced, allowing improved self defense for wizards. This means that wizards, under circumstances of self defense against a muggle, would be allowed to use 'necessary force'. This was a beginning of things that over the next two years, would become the ability to use magic except in certain zones to keep muggles compliant. December 24th - The Christmas Eve Bombings take place in London, killing over hundred people, including several witches. The Ministry gives statement that they will shut these terrorists down at all costs. 1976 January 13th - For peoples own safety, a curfew is made that disallows people out after dark (9pm). March 1st - After a slew of killings (and several bitings, including Emery Fancourt) in northern England are deemed to be the work of werewolves, a new law is passed that all werewolves must be monitored during the full moon. Any one not monitored can be put down on sight. April 4th - Hallow Industries is founded by the Lestranges. April 7th - In a move to seperate the two cultures, the UK is split into magical and muggle areas, using a law enforcement presence on the streets to keep the peace while people cross into the areas. May 1st - When a slew of Death Eaters are caught, celebrations break out all over Britain and Ireland. May 24th - Due to the new coexistant nature, some minor population controls are put into place. The next day there are backlash riots, that lasted for several days with several witches and wizards killed in the crossfire. WA stepped in to control the situation. June 22nd - A consensus is taken of the wizarding public, for identification cards that would be used to go through the muggle/wizard checkpoints. July 2nd - Opening of Hallow Industries, a place for wizards by wizards. Hallows is run by ten board members and works as governmental support (one of the services is a Werewolf Watch service), a relief organisation (grief counselling, maladjustment, etc), health and education services (furthering peoples education, walk in centre, etc) and a few other things. Covertly, this is also the new base of Death Eater operations and where most receive Orders, because Voldemort has better things to do than run a front company. August 12th - The Ministry announces that in accordance to the WA policies, there will be some restrictions made on certain goods and on certain magics. This will mean that shop keepers will need to run a diagnostic spell on the persons ID card to know their limitations. September 1st - First ID cards are issued. September 5th - First U-Day celebrations take place. 1977 April 6th - 21st During the Easter break, it was arranged that certain disappearances were overlooked. This was done through memory modification and coersion. This was the first instance of the St. Walpurga hospital being used covertly, before it's official opening the following year. It was used to create sleeper agents - people who are triggered by a phrase to perform specific acts and then have the knowledge of performing them erased. The people were sent home with vague replacement memories. May 31st - For the preservation of wizarding culture, new restrictions are made on muggleborn and halfblood witches and wizards. This is to limit the effect of muggles on the culture since the unity began. October 12th - All newborns are now recorded in bloodtype as well as family name. If there is sufficient doubt for the wellfare of the child, the newborn can be removed from the parents. (meaning, less reputable parents or muggle parents) November 1st - Disquieted individuals blow a hole in one of Hallows buildings, injurying up to forty people and killing two. When the Order of the Phoenix is blamed, the organisation moves underground - literally. Using a disused tunnel in the Brixton Underground, the Order have created a small complex underneath it. 1978 January 3rd - Hallows, as part of their 'humanitarian work', opens St Walpurga Hospital. This is a place focussing on people who haven't adjusted to climates and helping them become useful members of soceity. Covertly, this was also the day the Training Centre opened. This is where the removed children and some recoverees were sent after St Walpurga. Employees of Hallows are subject to bi-yearly screenings to check for signs of 'maladjustment'. They have the authority to authorise a six week stay in the hospital for those having trouble. It is often rumoured these people never return. The fact is they never do return the same. January 23rd - The new Death Eater bunkers are put up. With a new legitimate business front and a political foot in the door, the Death Eaters have become the black ops arm of the purism movement. |
