![]() - Please be in character. This is the best way to ensure a good game for everyone. We understand some situations are AU but if you step out of character wildly, one of us will have a quiet word. If you continue to do so over a period, you will be asked to leave. - Remember that IC does not equal OOC. If you don't like each other OOC, fine, don't interact OOC but learn a way to play together. - That said, don't be an idiot OOC. If we hear of any harrassment or trouble from a player, they will be cautioned. If the activity continues, they will be asked to leave. We come here to have fun, not to generate drama. - Do not god-mod or attempt to do something with a character without clearing it with the player. It's rude and not fair on the other player. - Activity. There must be at least one thread or one journal entries a month. This is a low maintenance game so we don't expect too much of the player. If you need to go on Hiatus, please just let us know. However, if you do keep a hiatus of an inordinate amount of time, please give up your role. The game needs to move on and we can't do that if we're waiting on a player to post who can't. - Muggle-borns and Purebloods. We understand that pureblood characters will not have the luxury of using the same Muggle things as some other characters, but remember that pureblood seems to have air of aristocracy and whatever muggle things they do have and/or understand should reflect that accordingly. - Pregnancies, deaths and other extremes. If it's canon, it's acceptable. If it's not, please let us know. Deaths in particular will always be subject to review because of the games AU status. - NPC's and OC's. Your character, especially one with only a name or not much information, will likely have an NPC family. If said character has been in play for a while (one month minimum), a person may app thier NPC relative with the players permission. This is the only situation an OC will be allowed, unless it is already there for plot purposes. - Jobs and sources of income. Be realistic about it. Variety and compatability is your friend. Not everyone will work for the main businesses. - Remember that it is 1980. Lily will not be listening to Britney, however she could listen to something like Slade. Please use people and events of the time. - On top of that, it's Britain. Bear in mind that life for Britain in the 70's is not quite the same as life in America. We're not asking for total accuracy, please just keep it in mind. - All actions will have consequences. If your character gets pregnant, she will be pregnant for the next nine months. We won't allow miscarriages and terminations all over the place just for the sake of it. Be true to life. If someone close dies, grieve realitically. We don't want wangst. While these things happen, they aren't going to happen every five minutes to the same people. - Entries can be hexed private in the following ways. They can be hexed to a particular group (Death Eaters, Order, Family, Myself) or to individual people (Frank, Lily & Emmeline, etc). The same goes for owls. Entries that aren't hexed can be read by anyone. - Subtlety. People don't want to be caught being a Death Eater or being an Order member because it will result in arrest or other problems. Bare this in mind when you're playing these characters. Anonymity and 'coincidences' are their friends. - The journals are small, black books that, in theory, are a way of keeping track of people during and after school. This means anyone can speak to anyone if they can see the entry. - Be realistic about your characters weaknesses and strengths. We don't want characters that 'omg cannot be defeated'. - Shipping. If you can make it believable, go for it. Don't let it dominate the character though. - Be true to the world. Remember who is in charge, who can see what you've written and what those consequences are likely to be. |
